Bio
In a word, I am an adventurer. Since I was born on December 9, 1993 in Portland, Maine, I, Shannon Meserve, have never ceased to give up the exceptional gift that I was given: The power of exploration. At nineteen years old, I am a strong believer in taking in everything life has to offer, and making what I discover meaningful. I grew up with an incredibly creative and humorous family who have taught me the power of individuality. I am musical and adore being artistic. I believe that since I have discovered the video camera, I have found my favorite creative outlet. Capturing what I see on film and molding it into something that I can share with others is thrilling to me. Although my knowledge of filming techniques are, and always will be in the process of developing, I truly believe that I want to make a career out of entertaining people.
Growing up in Falmouth, Maine, I did not have many opportunities to study film and the vast amounts of technology that comes with it. I did however; find much enjoyment from making small films such as music videos with friends in my town. While I was not participating in this amateur hobby, most of high school I was preoccupies with kicking butt on the volleyball court, singing in the school's chorus, and teaching myself how to play a variety different instruments.

Creative Statement
I believe that there is always something new to be explored. Being new to the New Media world, I am going to have a lot to explore and learn. I am a transfer student and I attended Keene State College last year. At Keene I was a Film Production Major and I adored my classes. I decided I wanted to continue down the Film path and I believed New Media would allow me to continue with my interest.
Although I do not know much about advanced editing technology or programming, I believe New Media will teach me a lot of useful skills and provide me with knowledge to continue to follow my creative path. I am inspired by entertaining people and showing them what I see through the eyes of a camera. I am thrilled to be in this program and I look forward to seeing where my studies in New Media take me.
